Lyme disease is a world-wide infectious disease caused by microscopic bacteria carried by certain species of ticks.
Lyme disease is not only becoming more rampant in its normal hotspot of the northeast United States, it's spreading across the country, a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns.
Among those infected are young people. Infections pervade all age groups, but currently there are fewer resources provided in digital formats familiar to younger generations.
There are no Lyme-based YouTube stars, the reddit forum is somewhat inactive, and there are few to no apps designed in familiar formats on the app stores.
Lyme Haven seeks to bridge one of these gaps, by popping up when young users search up the disease on the app store. Of course, anybody is free to download and participate in the app.
